Nebraska Memories Project
In 2005 the Society and Museum joined with Crawford Public Library to receive a grant from the federal Institute of Museums and Libraries to scan, digitize, and preserve important photographic images held by the Society and by individuals reflecting the life, culture, and economy of the area from about 1870 through the 1950's. This effort, the Nebraska Memories Project, has a large collection of photos online here. A recent grant from the Story Foundation has allowed the growing collection of often rare, always interesting photographic images to be digitized and displayed. The collections in the Museum are designed to point out to both local residents and other visitors the important role Crawford and the surrounding area played in the development of Western Nebraska, particularly the Northern Panhandle region.
